Presenting the Sato Line of Printers

We, at Thunderbird, are excited to present to our customers the Sato Line of printers and print engines. While we have serviced the Sato printers since our beginning, we are now a Sato Partner.

Sato Printers have come a long way since the early days of Thunderbird Technical Services, Inc. These printers were highly technical (fun for us to work on) and durable, but were known to be extremely unfriendly to the user. This is no longer the case!

The CL4NX and the S84-ex/S86-ex Series are the flagship models of their product line. Moreover, they are as plug and play as any other model out there and probably a bit more user-friendlier. We have tested and demo’d these printers with their universal printer language interpreter and they run beautifully, so far, using Citizen, Datamax and Zebra print drivers. So no more reformatting labels to fit the printer.

The Sato M84Pro is built on a platform that’s been around for 30 years only to upgrade electronics and compatibility, but functionally, the same.

With the supply chain issues due to COVID-19, the most popular printers, Zebra and Datamax, are facing parts shortages never seen before in our industry. Zebra, in part because of their merger with Motorola and a shift to manufacturing in China, and part due to blurred channel partnerships. And, discontinuing the greatly successful xi-Series line of printers has greatly affected front line technical support and remedial service. The constant change in printer platforms keeps customer wondering if they have the most up-to-date printer and uneasy how long their fleet of printers will be supported. Datamax, once Datamax-O’Neil, now Honeywell, has been having supply chain issues since being acquired by Honeywell. COVID-19 only makes matters worse.

As we move into a time in our industry where acquisitions are constantly moving us away from the products we’ve relied on, Sato remains steadfast in providing sturdy construction and compatibility across the board.

Call us to see the CL4NX Plus tabletop printer and the S84-ex print engine. See how the Sato line of printers is right for you so your organization can move into the future of barcode printing with confidence.
